The creators of the Conjuring franchise, Chad and Carey Hayes, have announced their next project: a planned franchise based on famous haunted mansions including LaLaurie Mansion in New Orleans. They will team up with the newly established company Faster Horse Pictures, which was established by Cindy Bond and Doug McKay earlier this year. The Hayes brothers are responsible for bringing the massively successful Conjuring franchise to life when they wrote the screenplay for the first film....

As detailed earlier this afternoon, Craig Federighi is currently testifying during the Apple vs. Epic lawsuit. The Forecast team today released their iOS 7 update for Dark Sky ($3.99), the ‘down-to-the-minute’ weather app. The update strips back the bevels and gloss to fit the iOS 7 aesthetic. The new design puts the most important information — the current weather conditions — front and center. A graph plot of upcoming precipitation is also available at a glance on the main page of the app. Blurring has also been used to great effect, with the forecast information superimposed on a blurred view of the global radar maps....

Director David Leitch thinks Deadpool 3 may not have an R-rating. Marvel Studios unveiled their Phase 4 slate at San Diego Comic-Con, and even teased the introduction of mutants. But Marvel president Kevin Feige was notably silent about Deadpool. Although Fox’s X-Men movies are generally viewed as mixed in terms of quality, the Deadpool films were popular and critical successes. Disney CEO Bob Iger has repeatedly stressed that he wants to continue making R-rated Deadpool films, and Feige has agreed, insisting that Marvel won’t be changing Deadpool....
