AirPods were introduced nearly 5 years ago and since then they’ve become a mainstay of Apple’s product family. They’re an essential tool that makes the Apple ecosystem infinitely better. But along the way, they’ve become less of an accessory and more of a flagship product, as evident from the top-of-the-line AirPods Max at $549. That’s no accessory. That’s a computer for your head that just so happens to talk to your other devices....

UPDATE: As people noted in the comments, the unlimited $69 a month data plan is really a $79 value because Sprint threw a $10 tax. The $10 smartphone surcharge is also applied to the $99 plan. Let’s not forget about the obligatory $36 activation fee, too. Also, the fine print on Sprint’s web site mentions a 15 percent surcharge and notes that the offer ends October 30, 2011. Sprint has confirmed with Phone Scoop that they will be offering an unlimited data plan alongside the iPhone 4S....

CookieMiner is the latest Mac malware to be discovered. It’s highly targeted, using a clever technique to try to steal your cryptocurrency. Discovered by security researchers from Palo Alto Networks’ Unit 42, it uses a two-fold attack method to obtain your login credentials and bypass two-factor authentication … TNW reports that CookieMiner tries to grab passwords saved in Chrome, alongside authentication cookies. Neither technique is new, but Unit 42’s deputy director of threat intelligence Jen Miller-Osborn says it is the focus of this one that distinguishes it from earlier malware....

Bloomberg reports that Czech carrier Telefónica Czech Republic AS (which owns O2 and operates under the O2 brand) is refusing to carry Apple’s iPhone 4S and is dropping all prior iPhone models, citing “business terms”. The iPhone 4S page on their site lists the handset as unavailable and provides a link to Apple’s Czech online store instead.
